Qatar Airways Expands Flights Ahead of Summer Surge

In response to rising travel demand, Qatar Airways is strengthening its global flight network by increasing services to key destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The airline, named the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, has announced additional flights to 11 major destinations, enhancing connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.

Expanded Flight Frequencies

Qatar Airways is boosting flight services to several key cities ahead of the peak summer season:

  • Europe: London Heathrow (56 weekly, up from 49), Amsterdam (11, up from 7), Tokyo Narita (14, up from 11), and Madrid (17, up from 14). Jointly operated flights with Iberia to Madrid will also rise to 24 weekly.
  • Middle East & Africa: Sharjah (35, up from 21), Damascus (14, up from 3), Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro (7, up from 3), Entebbe (11, up from 7), Tunis (12, up from 10), Larnaca (10, up from 7), and Maputo-Durban (7, up from 5).

Commitment to Global Connectivity

Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “Qatar Airways’ vast network of global destinations is complemented with robust flight frequencies for the benefit of our passengers.”

He added that the airline remains committed to enhancing passenger experience through its award-winning hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH), which was named World’s Best Airport and World’s Best Airport Shopping by Skytrax in 2024.

Looking ahead, Qatar Airways is preparing for significant fleet expansion, with plans to place a large order for wide-body jets to support long-term growth.
